Congregation Eitz Chaim celebrates Judaism in Monroe, New York, with prayer, song, reflection, food, family, friends, service and spirit.

Long time members of the Eitz Chaim family and those who are looking for a warm conservative, egalitarian Jewish Community — we welcome you.

If you are new to the area and seeking a local Jewish connection or community, we want you to feel you are home as you step through our doors. We strive to make people feel valued and safe regardless of age, gender, socio-economic status, family structure, sexual orientation, race, religious background or affiliation.

We are Congregation Eitz Chaim, serving the Jewish community of Orange County, NY in worship, study, community, and tzedakah for over 45 years.

Founded as the first Conservative synagogue in Monroe, NY, we embrace modern Jewish life. As a long-time member of USCJ (The United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism), Congregation Eitz Chaim respects tradition but is open to many voices and new ideas. Our emphasis is on participatory worship, encouraging every member to bring their talents to religious services, holiday celebrations and social action.

We embrace our congregational family around life cycle events, celebrating simchas and providing strength at shiva minyanim for those who are mourning a loss.

We join with the greater Monroe community and participate in interfaith programs of tikkun olam—to repair the world, provide help for local food insecurity and clothing shortages and speak out for social justice in our region.

We support the State of Israel and the people of Israel.

Members of Congregation Eitz Chaim look forward to welcoming you.
