Congregation Eitz Chaim is excited to welcome our new student Rabbi Yael Hammerman.
Rabbi Hammerman is in her final year of the Jewish Theological Seminary Rabbinical School and the Davidson School of Jewish Education, and is a summa cum laude graduate of the Double Degree program between JTS and Barnard College. She currently serves as the Director of Student Placement for the JTS Rabbinical and Cantorial Schools, is a JTS Residence Hall Director,
and has served as coordinator for the InterSeminary Dialogue group and "Isha el Achotcha" - the Women's Group of JTS.
Rabbi Yael has worked in many New York congregations including B'nai Jeshurun, Ansche Chesed and the Forest Hills Jewish Center. She has also served as a chaplain at St. Luke's Hospital and has taught at the Schechter School of Manhattan. She loves teaching and learning from her students of all ages - from toddlers to seniors.
Rabbi Yael is excited to join the Eitz Chaim community this year, along with her husband Rabbi Joshua Rabin, and their 1 year-old daughter Hannah.
Please join us this Shabbat for Rabbi Hammerman's first weekend in Monroe. Friday evening Kabbalat Shabbat services begin at 6:00 PM and Shabbat morning services begin at 9:00 AM.
